What is Pilates?
Pilates is a low impact exercise that aims to strengthen the body in an even way, with particular emphasis on core strength to improve general fitness and wellbeing.
Pilates was developed by German-born Joseph Pilates, who believed mental and physical health were closely connected. There are two types of Pilates, Mat Pilates which is done without equipment and Reformer Pilates which involves equipment.
Pilates has something to offer people of all ages and levels of ability and fitness, from beginners to elite athletes.
Our Clinical Pilates classes are led by our qualified Sports Therapist, Charlotte. Benefits of Pilates include:
Helping to reduce back and neck pain
Improving your general fitness and wellbeing
Building core stability and strengthening your spine
Addressing postural issues
Classes are run in small groups (max 8) to allow for individual attention. Beginners and intermediate levels are welcome to attend.
The Classes are held at Nancy Potter House in Topsham on Mondays at 6pm and Thursdays at 7pm.
We also provide 1:1 Classes at the clinic for those that would prefer this or who cannot make the classes.
