MEET THE TEAM
Iain Crombie MChiro DC ICCSP MRCC(Sport)
Having always been interested in healthcare as a profession Iain first encountered chiropractic following a succession of rugby injuries in his late teens. The successful treatment of those injuries with chiropractic, and the discovery that chiropractors treat a huge variation of musculo-skeletal conditions not limited to the spine, convinced him to apply to study at the Anglo European College of Chiropractic (AECC). Following graduation from a full time Masters degree in 2012, Iain was lucky enough to start working in one of the South-West's top sports chiropractic practices in Bristol.
During the last 5 years Iain has had the pleasure and honour of working with the New Zealand All Blacks Rugby Union team, Southampton and Bristol Rovers Football Clubs, Great Britain Paralympic and Skeleton Athletes and a multitude of other elite level sports people. Alongside this Iain has also run the medical team for a national league Rugby Union team in Bristol.
Aside from his work with athletes of all levels and abilities, Iain greatly enjoys treating people of all ages and from all walks of life and loves the variation and challenge that his day to day work provides.
Outside of his clinical work, Iain has had a paper published in the Journal of Clinical Chiropractic relating to his work on his Masters dissertation and been a contributing author to a book on manipulative techniques. He has given lectures at the AECC to soon-to-be graduated chiropractors and has also taught courses on chiropractic manipulative techniques to other healthcare professionals.
Iain is a member of The Royal College of Chiropractors Sports Faculty, The British Chiropractic Association and is registered with The General Chiropractic Council. He is also one of only two chiropractors in Devon and Cornwall to have gained the qualification of Internationally Certified Chiropractic Sports Practitioner (ICCSP)
Hannah Carthew MChiro DC LRCC
Hannah graduated from the Anglo European College of Chiropractic in 2010 with a Masters degree in chiropractic. Having grown up in North Cornwall, after graduating, Hannah returned home to spend her first 2 years of practice working in Cornwall. She moved to Bristol in 2012, where she worked in 2 busy clinics and gained a wealth of experience treating patients of all ages. She set up Harbour Chiropractic alongside her husband, Iain, in 2017 after a decision to move closer to their families in Devon and Cornwall.
Hannah believes that chiropractic can benefit everyone and enjoys treating patients of all ages from new-born babies to the elderly. She has a special interest in pregnancy and paediatric care and has carried out post-graduate training in this field. She is also qualified in Dry Needling (Western Acupuncture) and, when appropriate, incorporates this in to her treatment. Hannah continues to further her knowledge and skills by regularly attending post-graduate seminars and conferences, enabling her to give her patients the best care possible.
Hannah has an holistic approach to Chiropractic and will often prescribe home exercises and give lifestyle advice in order to help her patients achieve their optimal health and well-being.
Adam Davis BSc, MSMA
- Physiotherapist and Sports Massage Therapist
Adam’s passion for sports massage and rehabilitation began as a young lad who was obsessed with playing every sport possible until injuries struck! Seeing how rehabilitation and massage can assist with recovery drove Adam to complete a degree in Sports Conditioning, Rehabilitation and Massage in 2013.
During his time in Cardiff Adam split his time working in a busy physiotherapy clinic alongside working with the Cardiff Blues Academy, Wales 7’s and Wales Women rugby teams. These experiences have since allowed Adam to travel the world as a sports massage therapist for both the Great Britain Sitting Volleyball Team and the British Bobsleigh squad. Working within a full multidisciplinary team has allowed Adam to work with many experienced therapists and means he fits perfectly into the team at Harbour Chiropractic.
Since moving to Exeter, Adam has completed a Physiotherapy degree at the University of the West of England. Combining his extensive sporting experiences and physiotherapy skills Adam is able to diagnose and treat a large range of common injuries, providing elite level care to people of all ages.
Adam’s link to Harbour Chiropractic Clinic began when he recruited Iain to be part of a team of therapists to work with the New Zealand All Blacks medical team during the Rugby World Cup in 2015. Iain jumped at the opportunity and once Harbour Chiropractic was up and running it made sense to get Adam on board to help the clinic provide the best service possible to our patients.
Adam is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists and the Sports Massage Association and is registered with the Health Care Professionals Council.
